VIP Travel for Pets

One of the many pleasures of flying on a private or corporate plane is the ability to keep your pet in the cabin with you. The problem, however, is that most of us don’t know how to keep our pet safe in case of an emergency or if the animal is experiencing a health problem.

Realizing that this could be a problem, Carol Martin, a former commercial flight attendant who moved into the corporate arena, founded Sit ‘n Stay Global, LLC, to provide a supremely safe and luxurious experience for corporate clients traveling with pets.

Carol and her staff are all trained in first aid and pet CPR. All Sit ‘n Stay flight attendant travel with a pet oxygen mask, a pet flotation device, and pet seat restraints, and they begin each flight with a thorough passenger briefing on pet safety. If the client requests it, they will also stay with the pet and act as a Nanny throughout the trip.

Of course, not everyone has the option to fly on a private jet, but that doesn’t mean everyone shouldn’t have the ability to ensure their pet’s safety in flight. For those whose pets are too big to fit under a seat in an airline approved carrier, Pet Airways may be the answer.

A unique, pets-only airline, Pet Airways will fly your pet in a carrier they provide, in a specially equipped cabin, accompanied by a Pet Attendant who checks on the passengers every fifteen minutes during the flight.

Currently they fly to nine cities throughout the U.S. including New York, Washington, DC, Chicago, Atlanta, Fort Lauderdale, Phoenix, Denver, Omaha, and Los Angeles. They will soon be adding Houston, Dallas, and Austin, Texas, and Orlando, Florida, to their roster.

This is really cool! Pet Airways sounds like my dream come true. Is it just like the picture above with the dog having its own seat/food?!
I currently use http://bit.ly/g6lVxr to find pet friendly hotels and kennels….but always have massive obstacles when dealing with airline traveling with pets. Having to deal with so many regulations and annoying things to do only to end up with a less than ideal experience for my pets.
My cousin actually has a massively sized dog (don’t know the name) that’s too big for airlines. I’ll definitely forward this to him.

Thanks so much for your great feedback Philip- I am glad you like the article! I think that Pet Airways is onto something great! The photo is from on private jet- taken for Sit n’ Stay Global, the company that is featured first. And yes the animals get treated like royalty!
